September Favourites

Hi my lovelies, can you believe we’re in October already? It’s now already, time to start thinking about the C word…..Christmas!!! I love Christmas 🎄 so I’m happy.  September was a good month for me and saw me consciously re-couple with my long time partner.  September also saw me buy more things than usual, yes that is possible because hey it’s Autumn and a girl needs to update her Wardrobe and Beauty stuff right?/. How was your September?? What items did you love last month ?? Comment below and let me know!! 💋

Beauty Favourites

Solait Exress Tan Dark

So at the end of August I was lucky to go away to my Nan’s caravan on the East Coast and I forgot to fake tan before i went and I also forgot to pack my tan. I feel better with a tan plus I was staying with my Sister (Click here to visit her blog) and my Brother who had both been on holiday so I looked even paler than normal compared to them. So an emergency trip to Superdrug was needed. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on tanning products as the month before I’d bought the BondiSands tan. (see review here).  After reading the bottle this tan claims to be

• lightweight, fast-absorbing and quick drying formula can be depending on your desired shade be washed off after 1-3 hours.

• enriched with Aloe Vera, Glycerin & Vitamin E to help moisturise the skin for long-lasting results.

•transfer resistant and non-streak finish

•lasts for days

•with guide colour

• tropical scent

I picked this tan based on these claims and I wasn’t disappointed plus I’ve not tried an express tan before so I was keen to try as I was gonna be short of time. This tan does have a nice tropical scent a bit similar to a sunscreen lotion. It’s not as nice or strong-smelling as the Bondisands tan. The smell does fade as the tan develops and you get a slight digestive biscuit smell. As the tan is dark when you apply it, you can see where you’ve applied so you can make sure it’s rubbed in nicely and theirs no white bits. The first time I used this tan I only left it on an hour it left me with a subtle tan, as I like to be dark I now leave it on for the full 3 hours, which leaves behind a darker natural looking tan that fades evenly. My skin feels moisturised after using this tan.

NYX Epic Ink Liner (black)

The nib on this eyeliner pen makes applying my winged eyeliner easier than other eyeliner’s that I have used as it’s quite thin. It’s smudge-proof, which is ideal as I always end up with eyeliner in my crease throughout the day. This eyeliner also lasts all day and doesn’t fade and it’s waterproof.

Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Pallete in Ablaze

I’ve wanted this pallete since my birthday in February but I resisted the urge and regretted it since cuz every time I went in boots after it was out of stock. So the last time I went to boots, it was thankfully in stock. It’s the most expensive eyeshadow pallete I own and I can definitely tell the difference from high-end to high street. First of all the picture above doesn’t do the pallete any justice. The colours are beautiful & it’s the perfect eye pallete for autumn featuring a mixture of golds, browns, purples & oranges. The colours are super pigmented, easy to blend and lasts all day.

Fashion Favourites

Red Coat from Primark (pictured above)

I love Primark lately they’ve really upped their fashion game. I recently popped in primark just for a few essentials but as usual came out with a bag full, well 2 bags full (oops). If you would like to see a primark haul leave me a comment. As I’ve featured in a previous blog post (click Here) about red being the “IT” colour of AW17. As that being the case I couldn’t resist picking up this eye-catching bright red tailored coat. I spent a few minutes ummming and arrrrring about whether I should buy it as I have a wardrobe full of coats as it is and well I’m running out of space. When I saw the price and that it was only £25 I couldn’t argue with that could I? It looks more expensive than its price tag (starts singing Jessie J, where has she got to anyway??). It’s perfect for autumn as it’s not super thick to wear now and come winter you can wear layers underneath.

Red Suede Chelsea Boots (pictured above)
I also picked up this beautiful red suede Chelsea boots that match the coat perfectly and These boots are a great buy if you want to add a pop of colour to an outfit. I’ll Just let the picture do the talking for me about why i love these boots.

So that’s it my September Favourites what were yours ??

August Favorites

Hi my beauty’s, How was your August ?? I know this post is a little bit late, but better late than never right??

So as August came to an end, I consciously recoupled ( got back together) with my ex partner of 6 years after two months apart. I also went away for a few days to my nan’s caravan on the east coast so last months beauty Favourites came in useful. What did you do in August?

Beauty Favourites

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (travel edition)

I was lucky enough to go away for a few days in August so I took this away with me, as there’s no need to use a toner after use, and this travel sized edition is great for carrying around in your bag.  This Cleansing water removes makeup effectively even waterproof eye makeup as their is less rubbing of the skin, meaning skins is not red.  This cleanser also leaves no sticky residue and skin clear of grease and makeup. You only need to use a small amount on a cotton wool pad, this bottle will therefore last a while.

Botanics all brightening hydrating night cream

I’ve been using this Night cream for the last few months and have definitely seen a improvement in my skin. I use this cream at night after Cleansing and after the Serum  (featured below).  This cream is fast drying and absorbing, doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue. Skin looks brighter and more radiant in the morning after use and feels alot smoother.

Botanics all bright Radiance Concentrated Serum

I’ve also been using this serum for the last few months and when using this I could instantly see a improvement in my skins radiance as it instantly looked brighter and felt smoother. This serum is lightweight and easy absorbs into the skin so you can apply your moisturiser or foundation shortly after, as it leaves behind no sticky residue on my skin.  I use this serum after Cleansing and before moisturising.

Jimmy Choo Blossom

This perfume is literally “summer in a bottle”. It’s floral and fruity as it contains notes of citrus, berries, cocktails 🍹, sweet pea and rose. This perfume has long lasting floral undertones, without been overpowering. I always receive compliments when I wear this perfume. An added bonus is that the Bottle looks super cute on the dressing table.

So their we have my August favourites. What were your August favourites? Have you tried the botanic skin range at boots , what did you think?

*all opinions as always are my own, these products worked for me and may not work for you.

July Favourites

Hi,  hope you all enjoyed the month of July.

fashion favourites

Black Polka Dot Print Frill Tea Dress – Missguided

Black Polka Dot Print Frill Tea Dress

This dress from Missguided fits nicely and accentuates my figure as it’s a good quality material that clings to the body. This dress is a great transitional piece as its great to wear for the rest of summer with sandals and you can also wear it with boots and tights come colder weather. This Dress is the right length on me and im under 5ft, so bear that in mind when buying this dress if your tall.

Red Beret – Missguided

This red beret adds instant chicness to any outfit and completes any outfit. This hat from missguided is of good quality and well made.

Mermaid Holographic Shell Bag – Home Bargains.

This bag is a decent size and holds a medium-sized purse, a passport, phone and a lipstick. This novelty bag adds quirkiness to any outfit and I’m obsessed with mermaid and Metallics this Summer.

Beauty Favourites

Rimmel Insta Contour Crayon -Medium

This Contour crayon is a Handbag essential as it’s a double ended contour crayon with a contour shade at one end and a highlighter at the other. This crayon makes creating a basic contour look easy and is great for when in a hurry.  The formulas of these crayons are high pigmented and easy to blend. However if you use too much of the contour shade it can look a little harsh.

B. Blending Sponge – Superdrug

After losing my previous blending sponge for the billionth time, and been without one for a few months. I finally give in again and bought another as I missed how the blending sponge blended in my liquid concealer compared to a brush. The results of using a beauty sponge are the results are more flawless and the makeup looks less cakey.  I just wish they didn’t roll away.

Bondi Sands Self tanning Foam Dark

This fake tan is easy to apply, has the most amazing coconut smell as you apply, this tends to fade as the tan develops and has a faint fake tan smell but the odour isn’t as strong as some of the other tans on the market. The tan develops to build a natural looking tan that fades after about a week that doesn’t leave you looking like a Zebra. The only negative side is the tan doesnt develop as dark as I would have liked but its more natural looking than some of the tans that i have used.  The bottle does recommend applying a second coat after 30 minutes for a darker tan, however I’ve not tried this yet. (if you would like a full review of this Product let me know).

What were your July Favourites and if you’ve tried any of these products what did you think ? let me know in the comments.

My Top 10 Under 10 – Beauty

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi, hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. So for today’s post I’ll be talking about my top ten beauty products and the best thing is there all under ten pounds, because who doesn’t like a top ten and a bargain right.

Makeup 💄

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Pallete – £9.99

This pallete is the best budget buy highlighter I have used, with its rose gold packaging and four colors, one cream and 3 powders with a mixture of both matte and shimmer effect, it definitely looks more expensive than its £9.99 price tag. This pallete adds a luminous finish and a radiant glow to skin. It’s easy to wear as it suits most skin tones, its blendable and buildable to create a finish that’s right for you. You can also wear each shade as an eyeshadow or I use the purple shade to mattify my lipstick and it creates a Unicorn effect.

Sleek Lip V.I.P Semi-Matte Lipsticks -£5.49

Sleek lipsticks are fast becoming my favourite budget lipstick as its high pigmented colour stands out and is available in a range of colours. The semi-matte formula doesn’t dry out your lips, like some matte lipsticks can do. It also stays put and doesn’t smudge and lasts all day. Being a busy mum this lipstick is ideal as I don’t have the time to be topping up my lipstick all day and worrying that im walking round looking like the Joker.

Sleek Face Form Kit – £9.99

This face form kit makes contouring easy on the go with three shades in a small handy mirrored pallete. The kit contains three shades a sculpting powder to contour, a gold shimmer shade to highlight and a bronzer shade to add warmth.  The shades are high pigmented and easy to blend. The colors are a natural shade, so you don’t look like You’ve been tangoed. I use this pallete daily.

I Heart Chocolate Eyeshadow Salted Caramel pallete – £7.99

This Budget Eyeshadow pallete featuring sixteen shades with a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. For the price the eyeshadow’s are well pigmented, and durable. this eyeshadow pallete is a great dupe for the two-faced semi-sweet chocolate pallete.

L’Oréal  24H Infallible Foundation -£10.99

I was really impressed with this foundation after buying it after seeing a fellow blogger recommend it after saying it was a good dupe for the MAC Studio Finish Foundation as it has a yellowish tint. Its high coverage, easy to blend, lasts up to 7 hours and doesn’t dry out my skin. It’s lasted over a year as one or two pumps goes a long way

* When I purchased this foundation it was on offer and under £10.

Maybelline Age Rewind Eye  Concealer – £8.99

This Concealer is the best one i have used and have just recently purchased my second one. This concealer is easy to apply as it comes with a built-in sponge applicator and is easy to blend. It provides great coverage as it brightens the under eye area making this concealer good for highlighting. I’ve also found that this concealer doesnt dry and look cakey as i have found that to be the case with my Rimmel wake me up concealer.

To see how i use these products check out my GRWM-Makeup Routine .

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil – £6.99

I was impressed with how easily this oil removed my waterproof makeup. I didnt have to scrub to remove my makeup which meant my skin wasnt as irritated. When washed off and used with another cleanser for double cleansing, It leaves skin looking radiant as it hydrates skin and leaves behind no sticky or oily residue.

Garnier Moisture bomb  Hydrating Moisturiser Night Cream – £7.99

This moisturiser is perfect for his time of year as it is lightweight with a gel like consistency, which leaves skin looking radiant, and plumper. After using this night cream my skin feels smooth and not as dry. It doesn’t leave my skin oily like the thicker moisturisers can do at this time of year.

Vaseline Spray & Go Aloe Fresh – £5.99

This spray on moisturiser is easy to apply and time-saving as it drys quicker than other moisturisers and isn’t sticky or oily meaning you can get dressed quicker. It also has a lovely fragrance. This moisturiser leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft and has helped with my dry skin.

Fudge Urban Crisp Pear & Sweet Vanilla Dry Shampoo – £5.24

This dry Shampoo has a sweet-smelling fragrance that will leave you wanting to sniff your hair. It leaves hair feeling refreshed without a chalky feel. I end to use this as a volume spray as its great at adding volume to my roots.

If your stuck on what dry shampoo would be best for your hair type and to meet your needs the team at have done the leg work for you to determine the best dry shampoo on the market that delivers fresh hair without a full wash. Click here for the review. The best dry shampoos all in one place so you don’t need to spend your precious time trawling the internet looking for reviews.

June Favourites

Hi, hope you all had a lovely June. First of all I’d like to apologise for the lack of posting new material. These last few months have seen lots of changes in every aspect of my life. At the end of May, me and my former partner of 6 years and father of our 11 month old daughter decided to call it quits. So I’m back like living with my parents with a baby.

First night back at home I remember feeling upset and down about the thought of moving back home and been a single parent. I suppose it’s the stigma attached to the single parent status and being 25 theirs that added pressure that you should have a career, be settled down and moving out and here I was doing it all opposite. But then came on the news about the terrorist attack in Manchester, where 22 innocent people lost their lives many of them young children. I spent most of the night crying for those people and their families. Being a new mum one of my biggest fears is anything happening to my child or anything happening to me what prevents me from taking care of my child. As I kissed my child goodnight that night I realised I was blessed and we all are blessed for every moment we get to share and spend with our loved ones. It completely put things Into perspective for me no matter what happens in your life as long as the people who matter to you are alive and healthy, does anything else really matter that much?

Fashion Favourites

Pink Oversized Tailored Blazer with Ruched Detailing on Arms – Primark

The “IT” colour of the season is Millennial Pink. A few year ago if people would have said that I would even buy pink items yet alone love wearing them, and feature them in a favourites, I would have said shuuuutttupp (in my best Essex accent). This blazer instantly brightens up any outfit and makes it look put together with the blazers tailoring and detailing on the sleeves. You can wear this jacket with jeans, dresses, wear it at the office, and on a night out. It’s also lightweight for this seasons weather.

Pink Circle Buckle Shoulder Bag – Primark

Shock horror! Another item in the “IT” season of the colour. This bag definitely looks more expensive than its £7 price tag, with the bird detailing on the buckle. It’s also a great size for carrying my handbag essentials.

Gingham Black & White Checked Crop Top – Boohoo

This top has become my go to when in doubt on what to wear. It looks great on, fits like a glove, comfortable to wear, and is made from good quality material. I’ve been wearing this top with everything from jeans, shorts and skirts. I’ve also dressed it down in the day with a pair of flared hem jeans, and dressed it up at night with a pair of suede black lace up shorts.

Beauty Favourites

Sleek lipstick in VIP night spot shade red

I’ve been wearing this red lipstick for the last month. A bright red lipstick instantly brightens up any look and can take you from day to-night. I love this colour on me as before I bought this lipstick I would never have worn a red lipstick but I feel this colour suits me. It’s a long-lasting bright matte lip colour that’s not too drying. I will definitely be purchasing more sleek lipsticks in a variety of different colours.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Very Black

This mascara is a firm favourite of mine I try others but always try this one again and fall back in love. The formula of the mascara is dark and covers all my lashes it makes them look longer without clumps and doesn’t dry and flake throughout the day. The tiny brush also coats all the lashes and separates them. This mascara also doesn’t irritate my eyes like some other mascaras can do.

Nip & Fab  Dragons Blood Serum

This serum makes my skin feel so moisturised and dehydrated. I definitely feels that it plumps up my skin, calms any redness and stops it from looking dull and dry.  I use this serum in an evening after cleansing and before I use my moisturiser.

Lifestyle Favourites

Feast Of Fools – The Morganville Vampires book 4 – Rachel Caine

I love all things supernatural so after reading and watching vampire diaries, twilight and Harry Potter I needed something else, that’s when I discovered the Morganville book series.  The morganville book series revolve around a group of friends trying to stay alive in a town where no ones what their seem especially after dark. I’d definitely give this a read if you liked the vampire diary’s.

Pukka Night-time Tea

This tea is the perfect drink to have before bed as it’s caffeine free, contains lavender and chamomile both known for their calming effects on the body. I dunno how to describe the taste of this tea but when I drink it, I just feel calm and de-stressed and all cozy and ready for bed.

April Favorites!

Hope you all had a lovely April. As April came to an end, so did my maternity leave. Where have the past 9 months gone and my little baby. I just seemed to blink and bamm, she can now crawl & say her name. It doesn’t seem two minutes ago since I first went on maternity leave, in the last 9 months, I’ve become a mummy, gone from being a girl to a woman and decided to start this blog something I’ve been wanting to do for years.

Here are a few of the things ive been enjoying this month.

Fashion Favorites

New Look Frayed Hem Skinny Jeans

I bought these jeans spontaneously, as most jeans apart from high-waisted skinny jeans suit my shape. However I’m glad i took the risk and bought these jeans, because these are fast becoming my go-to wardrobe staple, to looking fashion forward and stylish, plus they flatter my figure. Click on this link to see how i previously styled these jeans.

Zara Striped Off The Shoulder Blouse

This top was my recent buy from Zara. I always see fashion bloggers wearing Zara, but whenever I visit the store, nothing ever seems to catch my eyes (apart from the Skorts that sold out a few years ago). As soon as i entered the shop, i loved this top and had to buy it. I’m looking forward to styling this top in so many ways. From wearing it with jeans, shorts and skirts. The possibilities are endless. Keep an eye out for future posts featuring this top.

MissPap Choker T-Shirt Dress

I love how many ways i can style this t-shirt dress from wearing it with a denim jacket and trainers for a laid back style or you can dress it up with thigh high denim boots and fish net tights for an edgy look.

Beauty Favorites

Rimmel Self-Tan Mousse Dark Matte

Here in the UK, were now officially in Spring, so it should mean that i can wear skirts without tights, but the weather has other idea’s. One day it’s Summer weather, the next you need to wrap up in hat, scarves and gloves. If i use this fake tan once a week it means I’m always prepared for when the warmer weather makes an appearance. This tan gives you a really nice brown natural looking color, not too orange or fake looking. This tan also fades gradually so it doesn’t look unnatural. Its fast drying, the smell is not too bad (still looking for a tan that doesn’t smell of digestive biscuits). It also doesn’t leave my skin too dry which other tans that I’ve used, have done.

Nivea Tinted Moisturising Day Cream.

The last month I fell back in love with this tinted moisturiser, As a teenager i never really wore foundation so this moisturiser was my go-to. It provides a medium coverage, gives skin a dewy color, & suits most skin colors. This moisturiser also provides a SPF.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Dynamic

This Lipstick is the perfect ever day nude/pink lipstick. This lipstick will suit most skin colors, is not drying, is a high pigmented color, long-lasting and has a nice sheen. I definitely would repurchase Estee Lauder lipsticks n the future.

Guerlain Insolence Perfume

This perfume is my all time favorite. It’s a long-lasting smelling perfume but not too over empowering. It smells of Parma -Violets sweets so brings back childhood memories.

Various nail varnishes

On the Ring finger I’m wearing a limited edition Kate Spade for Nails Inc this is a lovely metallic Goldish color, I then added a top color The Ted Baker Gold Glitter Nail Varnish.  This glitter nail varnish is the best I’ve used as it only requires one coat to get enough glitter to cover the nail. On the other nails i am wearing Avon’s Gel Nail Varnish in Barely There. This color is the perfect nude color and has a Gel effect. It also lasts longer than other nail varnishes 3 – 4 days without chipping.

March Favourites

Was it me or did March just go so fast? I just seemed to blink and bam it’s April. This Month I had a wardrobe clear out, so I treated myself to some new spring clothes & shoes. Let me know if you would like me to do a haul?

This Month I’ve been loving my

Embroidered Slogan Denim Jacket – Missguided (Similar Here)

If you’re a regular follower on my blog you know this Denim jacket has featured twice already in my OOTD post’s. I just love this denim jacket. A denim Jacket is a Spring Summer wardrobe staple as it completes any outfit in style whilst providing that extra warmth.  Click on the links below to see how I have previously styled this jacket.

OOTD – Girl Meets Street

OOTD – Styling A Basic Black Dress

Cry Baby Slogan Ringer T.Shirt

Slogan T.shirts are ‘in’ Style this season and are everywhere. I love this top from Boohoo as it is a really nice fit, & material & doesn’t need ironing. Being a busy mum this is an added bonus. This top goes with anything you can pair it with a denim skirt, jeans, or dress it up with a full skirt.  Click on the link below to see how I styled this T.shirt.

OOTD – Girl Meets Street

New Look Gingham Embroidered Mules

I did a feature on the trend gingham (read here Trending Tuesday – Gingham ) and I featured these shoes. I fell in love with these bad boys instantly (who even says that nowadays). Two trends in one shoe gingham & embroidery. I can’t wait to feature these in a OOTD post.

Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder.

I actually got this as a christmas gift set for Xmas a few years ago but completely forgot about it to be honest up until i saw Kylie Jenner’s Snapchat make-up tutorial and she used this as a contour powder. I immediately found it out and wished i started using it sooner. Now i know why its featured on so many beauty bloggers pages & videos, it’s the right tone for contouring as it has a greyish tone to it which is perfect and it looks natural. I think I’ll definitely be purchasing the full size powder.

Benefit They’re Real Push Up Eyeliner.

This eyeliners easy to apply, lasts all day and is smudge proof.

Vita Coco Coconut Oil

I had to feature this product as it my all time favourite beauty product. I’ve been using this coconut oil for the last year and now I wont change brands because i know this one works for me. I personally have noticed a difference in the appearance of my stretch marks, they’ve faded. This coconut oil as so many uses ive used it as a hair mask, i even tried oil pulling, and used it to make a salad dressing. I mainly use this oil to rub into my skin daily to treat my stretch marks.

Tequilla & Tea Bags – Laura Barnard

Tequila & Tea Bags by [Barnard, Laura]

I’ve enjoyed reading this book this month as it’s a funny lighthearted read. It made me literally laugh out Loud in places. Rose is sent to live with her Cousin Elsie in a Yorkshire Village but all she dreams about is being a club rep in Mexico. When she gets the Chance to leave will she, or has she fallen in love with the Yorkshire way of life?

What has been your March Favourites?

What’s In My Bag

These posts are one of my favourite things to watch & read in the bloggersphere, because well I like been a nosy parker. So I thought I’d share with you lucky readers, what’s in my bag.

My current bag that I’m using quite a lot at the moment is this black western buckle backpack (primark). I like using this bag as it’s quite spacious, big enough for my stuff and been a mummy I can fit some baby essentials in aswell. It’s also easy to carry, seen as it goes on my back leaving me hands free to carry the baby, or push a pram. It also goes with nearly all of my outfits, plus it looks more expensive than it’s £9 price tag.

  • Umberella – An umberella is an essential in any British handbag, as you never know when there’s gunna be a sudden downpour. I love the see through design of this umberella, plus it matches my pram’s raincover (completely unintentional).
  • Notebook & Pen – I’ve started to carry a notebook & pen around as I never know where I’m gunna get inspiration from, or I’ll suddenly remember that I need to pay a bill, been a adult sucks sometimes.
  • Sunglasses 😎 just because who doesn’t love sunglasses. Great for hiding hangovers or more recently hiding the bags under my eyes.
  • Passport cover & passport – I need to carry this around to purchase alcohol and other age restricted items, as I was blessed with a baby face.
  • Leather Gloves
  • Purse – the most essential item of them all. This purse is big enough to carry my cards and money which is mainly change at the moment.
  • Dummy – been a mummy I learnt the hard way that it’s essential to carry spare dummies with you. A tantrum in Tesco ensured that I never forget now to carry a spare.

I tend not to carry any of my expensive makeup in my handbag as I’m very clumsy and would have a meltdown if it broke.

  • Makeup Bag – this little red bag from No7 was a Christmas gift from my sister & it’s just the right size to hold all of my essentials
  • Makeup brushes – just a powder brush and a blusher brush.
  • Concealer
  • Powder
  • Cream blusher
  • Mascara
  • Lip balm
  • Eyeliner
  • Highlighter
  • Lipsticks – a nude one and a rosy pink colour.
  • Baubles & hairgrips
  • Hand cream
  • Nail file

I also carry in my handbag, a fold up mirror, hand sanitizer and a jack wills body spray.
